As Young As Vilnius: free public transport during the festival

On 25 July Vilnius will host the festival As Young As Vilnius, during which Lithuanian and foreign artists will perform in Vingis Park. To mark Vilnius’ 700th anniversary, public transport will be free on this day. Special bus routes will also be available during the festival.

You are welcome to come to the festival by free public transport

On 25 July, one of the main events of Vilnius’ 700th birthday will take place – the festival As Young As Vilnius. For the convenience of all participants, we invite you to travel free of charge by public transport on this day, including the special bus route “Arkikatedra – Vingio parkas” (Cathedral – Vingis Park) during the festival. The bus will take you directly to the entrance of Vingis Park on M. K. Čiurlionio and Gerosios Vilties streets. Passengers on the special route will be able to get off at the temporary public transport stop “Jaunas kaip Vilnius” (As Young As Vilnius) next to the M.K. Čiurlionis viaduct and walk comfortably to the venue in Vingis Park.

The festival can be reached by free public transport via the following routes:

  • The Gerosios Vilties bus stop can be reached by bus routes 2G, 21, 22, 23, 29, 54 and trolleybuses routes 4, 6, 12, 16.
  • The Vingio parko bus stop can be reached by bus route 24 and the special route “Arkikatedra – Vingio parkas”.
  • The Mikalojaus Konstantino Čiurlionio bus stop can be reached by bus routes 3G, 23, 73 and trolleybuses routes 10 and 17.
  • The Latvių bus stop will be reached by bus route 21.
  • Buses 21, 22, 24, 54, 73 and trolleybuses 12, 18 will also run more frequently from 16:30, providing convenient access to Vingis Park.

Special route “Arkikatedra – Vingio parkas”

During the festival, buses of the special route “Arkikatedra – Vingio parkas” will run from 16:00 to 02:00 and will stop at the following public transport stops: Arkikatedra, Karaliaus Mindaugo tiltas, Operos ir baleto teatras,  Alberto Goštauto, Nepriklausomybės aikštė, Verslo trikampis, Jaunas kaip Vilnius, Vinco Pietario and Vingio parkas.

Free night buses home from the festival

At the end of the festival, Vilnius residents and visitors are invited to take free night buses home. From 23:30 to 03:00 at night, the usual night bus routes will run in Vilnius: 101N, 102N, 103N, 104N, 105N. However, to cover more parts of the city, the routes of the 101N and 103N buses will be adjusted. Night buses will run every 30-35 minutes. And the special route “Arkikatedra – Vingio parkas” will run until 2.00 am.

The following night bus routes will take you home after the festival:

  • 88N Airport – Centre – Europos aikštė
  • 101N Saulėtekis – Žygimantų g. – Savanorių – Laisvės pr. – Fabijoniškės
  • 102N Pilaitė – Žvėrynas – Žygimantų – Maironio g. – Stotis
  • 103N Santariškės – Didlaukio – Kalvarijų – Pylimo g. – Stotis – Gerosios Vilties g.
  • 104N Ateities – Žirmūnų – Pylimo g. – Naujininkai
  • 105N Pašilaičiai – Šeškinė – Konstitucijos g. – Žygimantų – Olandų g. – Pavilnys – Parko g.

Free electric buses will be running in Vingis Park

Persons with individual needs and, if required, participants of the event will have the opportunity to use the electric bus in Vingis Park from 17:00. A temporary route is foreseen from the side of Geležinio Vilko Street to the Vingis Park stage.

Vilnius residents and visitors can find public transport timetables for the festival on the internet at www.judu.lt, and in mobile apps m.Ticket, Trafi.

Drivers are asked to leave their cars in the “Park and Ride” car parks

To avoid traffic jams, we recommend that you leave your car in the “Park and Ride” car park and continue your journey free of charge on public transport.

Drivers are advised to avoid the intersection of Geležinio Vilkas and Gerosios Vilties Streets and to choose other routes during the festival.

Get to the festival by environmentally friendly transport

Those who are able to do so are welcome to come to Vingis Park by nature-friendly means of transport: bicycles, scooters. However, we would like to point out that these vehicles will not be allowed in the festival area, so please leave them in the special areas near the entrances to the festival area and take care of their safety yourself.

Train timetables and additional night trains to Kaunas

We invite guests from all over Lithuania to celebrate Vilnius’ birthday at the festival As Young As Vilnius, and to make your arrival more convenient – take the trains!

We recommend the following departures to Vilnius for guests from Kaunas:

14:30, 15:30, 16:50, 17:24, 17:45

After the festival, LTG Link invites you to return on the Vilnius-Kaunas route by evening trains:

20:30, 22:15, 01:00

Temporary restrictions during the festival

From 10 a.m. on 25 July until 2 a.m. on 26 July, traffic will be banned in Vingis Park from the entrance road from Geležinio Vilko Street to the café Lakštingala.

From 10 a.m. on 25 July until 2 a.m. on 26 July, traffic changes will be introduced in Elektrinės, Eigulių and Birutės streets. Traffic on these streets will be temporarily organised in one direction. Access will be restricted to persons with permits and to Vilnius electric buses.
